SB’s Questions

When was the last time you did something kind and what was it?

I think it’s important to show kindness everyday…even if it’s as simple as holding a door for someone.

Your most beautiful childhood memory?

Swimming.  I loved water and still do.

Pizza or pasta?

Man this is a tough one!  I’d have to say pizza wins.  Who doesn’t love some bread piled with sauce, cheese, meat, and veggies?  Well except maybe a vegetarian.

Why do mother’s need coffee and wine?

Coffee is to keep us mommies awake, which in turn, keeps the kids alive and wine is to help the coffee wear off in order to sleep!  Wine is also a necessity for sanity for me.

Do you have a pet and if yes, what kind of pet?

We have a German Shepard named Roxy.  She is the best dog that I have ever owned…and I have always had a dog all my life.

What invention do you think the world would need and what stops you from inventing it?

A drug to make everyone happy.  I think there are so many of us who suffer from turmoil and sadness.  I’m not a scientist and I don’t see me becoming one in the future.

What’s the secret of life?

Humor!  I think everyone needs a good laugh everyday!

What question would you ask the president of the United States if you would have a one-on-one with him?

What the fuck heck are you doing?  Seriously. I am not much of a political person though, therefore I won’t even discuss politics or religion with most people.

What would be your solution for world peace?

To do away with greed.  I think greed causes a lot of people to become abnormally psycho problems.

What are you cooking for dinner?

Do leftovers count?  That was then….tonight I am making Jambalaya.

Susan’s Questions

Did you enjoy school?

Nope.  I hated school.  I feel that high school teaches you nothing to prepare you for the “real” world.

What is the saying you despise the most?

Is it snack time?  Drives me CRAZY!

What is your most treasured possession?

Memories.  And a ring that my late grandma owned.  There’s a long story to it.

How do you spend a typical Saturday night?

Preferably sleeping 😆

Name 3 things you are really good at and 3 things you are really bad at. Good:

  1. Friendship
  2. Honesty
  3. Bitching Speaking my mind

  1. Being a housewife homemaker
  2. Communicating my feelings…unless of course it’s bitching.
  3. Baking.  Love to cook but could burn boxed brownies.

Do you care what others think of you?

Only those who are really close to me.  The ones who truly matter.

What is your favorite movie and why?

I would have to go with my childhood favorite of “Flashdance”.  I used to watch it everyday and it inspired me to never give up on dreams.

Update: When A Man Loves A Woman, Urban Cowboy or if most recent South Paw…awesome movie if you haven’t seen it.

What is the worst movie you have ever seen?

This one’s so easy….”Cyrus”!!!  Worst movie ever!!!

What was the last thing you ate?

Sunflower seeds.  Have you tried the Spitz Spicy Sweet Chili yet?  Well get your ass to the store and get some!

Update:  Does Corona qualify as eating?

Do you believe in aliens? Why or why not?

I do believe that there is no possible way that we could be the only life form in the entire universe.  There is just so much “unknown” out there.

Debbie’s Questions

1. If you were given the chance to go walk on the moon would you do it?

I don’t think I could leave my family and veer off into space.  Too many things can and have happened on that adventure.  Before I had kids the answer would have been HELL YES!

2. Camping by a beautiful waterfall, in a pretty wood with gorgeous weather, or 5* luxury accommodation with terrible weather?

Camping!  I could really care less about luxury.  Sure it’s nice but highly overpriced and overrated.  Give me the great outdoors and some beautiful scenery and a beer and I am golden.

3. Which is your favourite social networking site and why?

Have to go with Facebook.  I know it’s a cliche but I have stuck to a rule of I only have people on my personal Facebook that I actually know or have had an actual conversation with.

Update:  Instagram or Twitter for me.

4. Beer or wine?

I have to make a choice?  I used to be a huge beer drinker but lately I am more of a wine connoisseur.  I love trying different brands of reds.  You can read about some of my wine reviews here.

5. Which item(s) can you never leave the house without?

  1. My clothes
  2. My phone
  3. My glasses
  4. My purse
  5. My mind…although I leave that sucker everywhere.

6. If you had to take part in a reality TV show, which would it be and why?

“The Amazing Race”  I think my husband and I would rock that show.  We travel well together and don’t crack under pressure.  We do however have a tendency to become…shall we say….smart asses.  We both think we are right which can cause slight yelling in public arguments.  But hey that’s great for television right?

Update:  If I had the chance I would make a Real Housewives In The Middle Of Fucking Nowhere!  That’s me.

7. If every job had the same salary, which job would you choose?

This is a great question Debbie.  I love being a mom.  But if I wasn’t a mom I would have to go with flower deliverer.  People are always smiling when they get a delivery of flowers.

8. Would you rather: write a terrible blog post and have it go viral or write an amazing blog post and only have 10 people read it?

Oh let’s be honest here…of course I would want any post to go viral.

9. If you could be known for one thing, what would it be?

The difference I made in the lives of my children.  A good mother, wife, friend.  A good person in general.  I have done a lot of wrong in my past and now I just want to make my life right by doing right by the people I love.

10. If you could change you’re first name would you? If yes, what would you choose to be called?

Nope.  I love my name and thank my mommy for giving me a “not so ordinary” name.

Update:  I deleted who I had nominated and my questions because well…they were lame but if you would like to participate in my newest round of questions you can go here.

Throwback Thursday ~ A-Z Of Me

I wrote this about a year ago and felt it needed a little more love so it’s my throwback Thursday choice!

G- My love of silver far exceeds gold.

I- Trying to win an argument with me is quite impossible.  Especially when I don’t really argue about anything unless I know I am right about it.

J- I’m in love with Tim Burton characters…especially Jack Skeleton.  So much so that I am currently in the process of getting my entire arm done in character tattoos.  Update:  All done and I LOVE IT!!!

Q- I question life everyday.

R- Rain is a beautiful gift of nature and I would love more of it here in the western hemisphere.

Mother Who Mommy Children

I was tagged by the lovely Kelly at Yes Peas Mummy for this writing challenge.  And we all know what a challenge motherhood can be sometimes.

From the time the little mini monsters come out of our bodies it is a constant cater to everything pertaining to their well being.  Our own well being suddenly becomes extinct.  We no longer have days at the salon or days spent window shopping at the mall…oh wait I didn’t really do that even before I had kids.

mother who mommy motherhood mom

*Gets to stay home and watch her children grow each and every day.

~This also means I am never away from you to have a moment to even have a thought of my own!

*Loves to watch every exciting new moment discovered in your eyes.

~Especially the moments of getting soap in them and screaming like you are being set on fire!

*Couldn’t imagine her life without you in it.

~Just please let me sleep in for once!

*Watches you interact with one another and realizes the choice to have more then one was the right choice.

~Then you start fighting!  Thought destroyed…moment over.

*Sees how much you are growing up and starting to be more independent by picking up your toys.

~That lasted 5 minutes.

*Wants to love you, and squeeze you, and smother you with kisses.

~What’s that smell?  Is that fucking poop in your hair?

*Loves to watch you run and play outside as the sun beats on your beautiful face.

~Is that dog shit on your shoe?  GET BACK OUTSIDE!

*Just look how innocent you look while you are sleeping.

~Whats that on your sheets?  IS THAT PERMANENT MARKER?!?!

*Would do anything for her children.

~No you can’t have another sibling!

*Loves being your mommy.

Write Til You Drop

I have been challenged by Sandi over at Flip Flops Everyday to do the unthinkable…WRITE!

I love Halloween!  I love to decorate, eat candy, dress the kids up, and even walk for what seems like miles going door to door with my kids.

Last year was our first halloween in our new house and we decked out the front yard with various halloween decorations.  I had just started blogging and there is a blog post about it somewhere in my archives.  I would dig it up and post the link right now if I wouldn’t break the rules of this writing challenge.

Halloween is also the start of it officially being fall.  Seems like halloween night it just suddenly gets cooler.  Am I right?  Or maybe it’s just me.  Also has the price of candy just sky rocketed during this time?  I mean seriously who wants to pay 10 dollars for a bag of the cheap stuff.

Speaking of the cheap stuff I will not be buying any of that this year.  Last year on my street everyone was handing out entire candy bars!  Yes entire candy bars!  My kids were in heaven.  Especially since where we came from there was no where to trick or treat.

TOTAL WORDS=208 (5 timed and repeatedly interuppted minutes)

My word was Halloween.  If you would like to participate in this challenge here are the rules …although I don’t have MS Word on my MAC therefore I just opened a new WordPress post.  Please be sure to come back and tag me in my about page with a link to your challenge.

Here are Rules I had to follow:

  • Open an MS Word document
  • Set a stop watch or your mobile to 5 minutes or 10 minutes whichever challenge you think you can beat.
  • Your topic is at the foot of this post BUT DO NOT SCROLL DOWN TO SEE IT UNTIL YOU ARE READY WITH A TIMER.
  • Fill the word doc with as many words as you want. Once you began writing do not stop even to turn.
  • Do not cheat by going back and correcting spellings and grammar with spell check in MS WORD (it is only meant for you to reflect on your own control of sensible thought flow and for you to reflect on your ability to write the right spelling and stick to grammar rules)
  • You may or may not pay attention to punctuation and CAPITALS. However if you do, it would be best.
  • At the end of your post write down ‘No. Of words =_____’ so that we would have an idea of how much you can write within the time frame.
  • Do not forget to copy paste the entire passage on your blog post with a new Topic for your nominees and copy paste these rules with your nominations (at least 5 bloggers).

For those who would like to accept the challenge…your word is PROM!

The Daydreamer Challenge: Day 2

Here is my Day 2 of The Daydreamer Challenge.

There are 2 parts to choose from.  I am posting a picture that describes me…

This is my husband and I.  He not only changed a chapter in my “book of life” but transformed my entire book!  He gave me the gift of motherhood…which is the greatest gift I have ever received.  (I am about 7 months pregnant in this picture with our baby Z) Being a wife and mother is what defines me most.  It’s what puts a smile on my face and drives me to drink makes me pull my hair out all at the same time.  I have forgotten what a life without chaos is like.  I only remember that it was boring and lonely most of the time.  Oh what I wouldn’t give for an entire day of sleep.  It’s a life without little giggles and big warm hugs.  It’s a life where no one needed me to kiss their boo boo’s or pull the splinters out of their tiny little fingers.  It was a life without hearing the word “mommy” and knowing that someone truly loves me unconditionally.  It was a life of selfishness and never having to worry about anyone other then myself.  I thank my husband for changing me…for defining who I am…and for making me a better person.

Part 2 of this challenge says to make an imaginary word describing me…

That’s easy…it’s one that’s been tossed on my lips few times…FRANTRISTIC!  It’s my husband and I’s first names mixed together.  It’s a word we made up when we first started dating and it still describes our life together today.

30 Day Writing Challenge: Day 13

Someone You Have Always Wanted To Meet…

Well for those of you close to me it would be no surprise that my answer to this would be Gwen Stefani.  I have been an idol of hers since before she was a star on the map.

I was a “No Doubt” fan at first but quickly realized that she would eventually become a phenomenon.  She was the reason behind that band being such a huge success.  She was one of the first female artists to lead a band with the type of music style that they possessed.  Her energy even today is beyond implausible.  She’s in her 40’s and still protrudes more effervescence then the majority of her younger rivals.

She has more then just singing under her belt.  Her sense of fashion has been remarked on around the globe as well.  All this while juggling 3 boys and a famous husband.  And she makes it look so easy.  She has made quite the brand for herself and has so graciously interpreted her life through the many pages of song lyrics.  Pouring out her deepest thoughts for everyone to know.

I am sure if I ever did get to meet her in person I would be star struck, speechless, and baffled for a single word to recite.

30 Day Writing Challenge: Day 12

Someone I Miss:

Must I narrow this to only one?  It’s my writing challenge therefore I am going to do what I want…oh wait…I do that all the time anyway.

I miss my maternal grandmother.  She has been gone for many years but there are so many pieces of me that I wish she could have seen.  I was still in my “selfish-all about me” stage of life when she past and I regret not telling her how much more appreciative of her I was.  She pretty much raised me and regardless of the generation gap between her raising her own children and then raising me I realize now that she always put me first.  I wish she could have met my children and seen how happy I am now.  When she was alive I was so contingent about who I was or wanted to be and usually I was just an asshole.

I miss my bestie.  I met my bestie at a playdate for our littles.  Problem is we didn’t realize how much we adored each other until a couple years later.  We are both kind of introverted in our ways and neither of us knows how to step over one’s boundaries.  But somehow we finally managed to do so…the year before I moved.  I miss our SAHM afternoon wine tastings and watching our kids all bond like they had been born in the same womb.  I miss going to the “wine and canvas” event with her(yeah we are a couple of winos…what of it?)…even though we had only attended two of them…I know that if I still lived there…we would still be attending them regularly.  I miss dinner “dates” that we would take our littles to.  Her daughter and my son are absolutely smitten with one another and there isn’t a day that goes by that my little B man doesn’t ask to go see his “girlfriend“.  He still doesn’t understand that we don’t just live down the street anymore.  I just miss spending time with her in general.

I miss my family.  I really don’t get to see any of them often enough due to the fact that we all live in different places.  I have the means to go visit them but 1 mom + 3 toddlers on a road trip = MOMMY IN A STRAIGHT JACKET by the end.  I did it one year with an infant and a toddler all while 7 months pregnant.  I survived but by the time we got home I thought I had done lost my mind somewhere between Salt Lake City UT and Las Vegas, NV, and someone had run over it.

I miss all my friends I had to leave behind due to moving.  I miss seeing their faces regularly and laughing until my cheeks and abs hurt.  I miss seeing their little people and being a part of their lives.  I really miss “girl-chatter“.

I realize that life just keeps changing.  We miss certain things and a lot of someone’s.  We experience new things and meet new someone’s.  And of course they can never replace the former ones but make new transitions worth the transitioning.

30 Day Writing Challenge: Days 10 and 11

I am going to combine two days into one since I have fallen behind in this challenge and they are both topics that can blend together, weather and something unusual:

Well I would say that the weather we are having here in Winnemucca, NV has been completely unusual and unpredictable.  The landscaping is all blooming and I woke up to a chilling 20 degrees outside this morning. Not that 20 degrees is chilly to me of course…ever since I turned 40 I swear it’s like my internal thermostat is stuck on “sweating”.  I only turn on the heat in this house because I have little ones.  Otherwise I would have it at a constant 60 degrees.  And if my husband or the teenagers ever complained that it was cold…I would just tell them to put more clothes on or get a blanket.  “Cause if mama ain’t happy…she will make everyone’s lives a living hell ain’t nobody happy!”

I don’t dare talk about the W word that was roaring like the 1920’s outside yesterday….shhhh!

Now I am a sunshine girl.  Love the sunshine, love all the things that come with summer…except…HOT weather.  I am not a fan of extremely hot which is funny since I lived in southern Nevada for over 20 years.  And people used to ask me, “How do you live in such extreme temperatures?”  Well that would be due to A/C and swimming pools of course.  Not that either of those would be available anymore during a zombie apocalypse but that’s what vodka and sleeping pills are for.

You’re probably now wondering if I was serious about that last statement…

The vodka and sleeping pills would be to feed the zombies of course…duh!

Back to the weather being unusual…what a boring topic to write about  really.  Today it is sunny and beautiful outside and tomorrow’s forecast calls for rain and snow flurries.  Go figure.

This is how unpredictable it is…I just checked my weather app again and now it says just partly cloudy with a chance of meatballs for tomorrow…2 days ago it said rain and snow. Unpredictable and unusual…that is the weather.
